THE END OF THE DUAL CHALLENGE YEAR!!!
Food - Week 52: Spices
This week add the spices and the oil you use in your favorite recipes. After World War II the items Europeans coveted the most were spices and oil. Just imagine your recipes without those ingredients. We have lots of grains, vegetables, protein, dairy, and fruits stored.
This week is the opportunity to store the ingredients that will turn all your General Store from ordinary to extraordinary. Plus you probably just used a lot of your spices and should know which you need to stock up on!
General Store - Week 52: Steel Wool and Aluminum Foil
Now on to an amazing new year filled with self-reliance preps. As our last task we will be storing steel wool and aluminum foil. Steel wool is a great tool for cleanup but also to store in your 120 hour and auto kits to help start a fire.
Many years ago on Christmas we found ourselves short on aluminum foil - never again! I store lots and lots because it is so versatile. When you are without power cooking in a Dutch oven or cooking foil dinners requires aluminum foil. Foil can be used to block out the sun coming through windows during a heat wave, so many, many, uses.
If you have kept up you now have a three month supply of the foods you eat, PLUS the General Store challenge this year... Congratulations!!!
