Is it safe to eat bloomed chocolate?

Chocolate bloom is one of two types of whitish coating that can appear on the surface of chocolate: fat bloom, caused by changes in the fat crystals in the chocolate; and sugar bloom, due to crystals formed by the action of moisture on the sugar. Although bloomed chocolate is still safe to eat. Bloom is considered one of the main concerns in the production of chocolate. There are two types of bloom: fat bloom and sugar bloom. But essentially, bloom occurs when chocolate is not cooked properly. Again, yes it is safe to eat.

Can you fix chocolate bloom? Chocolate bloom can be repaired by melting the chocolate, stirring, and then pouring it into a mold and allowing it to cool, combining the sugar or fat back into chocolate.


With Halloween this weekend it is a good time to stock up on sale candy. All chocolate and most chocolate bars with nuts, filling, caramel and fruits can be frozen and kept for a year.
