Time For Ornament Creating News!

It's Monday, time for our WEEKLY UPDATE!

  1. We are thrilled to have 21 states reporting they are busy making ornament. Please remember to let us know if you are creating in a state not yet turned red on our map.

  2. Our matching funds drive last week had $60 in donations which will be matched making our total for the two weeks $120. We are slowly but surely getting there. No donation is too small to be a big help.

  3. We would love to be interviewed by your local TV station, radio station, newspaper, or other media outlet. If you have a connection or know or have a "celebrity" connection please contact them about our project. Disaster survivors are one of the most forgotten and least served communities.

  4. Keeping it simple can be beautiful. We love all the ornaments we receive, the ones made by children as well as the ones that would bring in big bucks on ETSY. This month think simple as you plan to create at family reunions, with children or youth groups or in assisted living facilities. Think vinyl and stickers. These are easy to place on a wooden craft disc, add a bow, stick on jewel or a little greenery and you are done. I've included photos of a few to get those creative juices flowing. Paint the disc and add a white nativity sticker, or make a sticker or vinyl cutout of your state and a heart or stars and draw a line to a sticker of the state where they are being sent. We did one last year from Texas that was really pretty and just said Merry Christmas Y'all, very Texan. The photo of the bows are from the dollar store and very inexpensive ones can be purchased online in bulk.

  5. Finally a reminder of the addresses to send ornaments.
