2023 Preparedness - Wednesday Wisdom: Week 27

July 5, 2023 Since most of us are busy this week with July 4th celebrations let’s consider one more week of questions to consider as you work to prepare this summer. As we wrap up our questions to ponder and act upon please leave comments about your struggles in preparing so we can address your concerns and help you move forward. This feedback will help us understand what we need to address in future posts and articles. Do you know how to save water during a drought? Do you know the signs and treatment of frostbite? Do you know the signs and treatment of seizures? Do you know the signs and treatment of snow blindness? Do you know the signs and treatment of heat-related illnesses? Do you know the signs and treatment of hypothermia? Do you know the signs and treatment of dehydration? Do you know the signs and treatment of poisoning? Do you have the number for poison control posted? Do all family members know how to call 911? It’s not just about dialing the number but also about what information to give and when and how to give it. Have you done a home inventory? Do you keep your freezer full in case of a power outage? Have you discussed possible disasters in your area with your family? Have you discussed possible disasters in their new area with children leaving for college or other adventures in a new area? Do children leaving for college have Five-Day Kits and food storage in their dorm room? All these questions can be answered and guidance is given in the Totally Ready Binder: Tips and Tricks For Now and When Disaster Strikes
